My Poetic Journey To Freedom Crystal H Vo Books

Poetry From My Heart...Writing has become an essential part of my life. It allows me to express my inner voice and establish balance. These poems and prose are small stories of a teenage girl, who escaped her Vietnam homeland to find a better life in a foreign land. She was homesick. Life became so difficult and unbearable; she suffered from depression. She had feelings of inadequacy; so small, so insignificant, and invisible, thinking that she wouldn't be noticed by anyone. Expressing and writing her darkest thoughts made her realize that she needed help. She sought escape from personal problems through the power of prayer. Within time, her prayers were answered. In this book entitled My Poetic Journey to Freedom is based on true stories in seeking a better life. The writing shares the thoughts and needs of a daughter, a sister, a mother and a friend. There are poems about a sick friend that needs help, as well as uplifting poems that encourage you to believe in a higher being. I can only hope that these poems help you find the strong person within, while seeing a life that is rich with color and possibilities. These poems came from the heart. That heart wants nothing in return, but wants to share feelings that can lift your spirit. We all have moments of adversity, but we do not want to dwell on them for long...... The sky is most beautiful after a storm.

My Poetic Journey To Freedom Crystal H Vo Books Reviews
Wise men say only fools rush in, but I could not help myself calling the author of My Poetic Journey of Freedom and purchasing this poem book as soon as I heard it was being sold on . I have read it several times and I realize what the journey to freedom is...
It is my honor to be one of Crystal's friends- the author of My Poetic Journey to Freedom. The very first time I met Crystal, I was impressed by her mixed simplicity and complexity. That is Crystal with simple words, yet very deep thoughts. When reading My Poetic Journey to Freedom, someone may be wondering why most is written about love and affection. Yes, through 100 poems, we can find the experience of "being in love"; love and dreams; love and frustrated... In fact, we all have loved and won, and loved and lost... The journey to freedom is simply like
"A beautiful dove
Flapping its wings
Up into the big blue sky
Over majestic mountains
Soaring above the bountiful sea".
During Crystal's journey to freedom, she loved, laughed and cried...And when tears in her subsided, she wrote this heartfelt stories.
I loved this book. I enjoyed the melodious writings and I find it helping me to have an enthusiastic look on life; it gives me the path to freedom with the control of unpredictable and dangerous fire in the heart.
I strongly recommend you reading this book. For someone who is Crystal's friend, read it to enjoy the beauty of the poetic writing with deep thoughts artfully expressed by your friend. For someone who does not know much about the author, read it to become an admirer of a lovely young poet.
This collection of poems and stories moved through a series of snapshot moments that captured the spirit and essence of the author's mindset. The poems were both heartfelt and raw in their intensity to communicate honest feelings. The stories near the end of the book describe early experiences of Ms. Vo and the struggle to find a place in her adopted country without knowing the language, culture or people. The sheer determination and mindset to overcome these challenges would be daunting for anyone coming as an immigrant to America. I salute her courage and determination to overcome everything placed in her path to become an American citizen, attend school, learn the language and customs, raise a family, work, and contribute to society in the fullest sense of the word.
I most enjoyed the straight forward and honest writing. It had a refreshing feeling to it.
I highly recommend this book.
Chrystal's journey from South Vietnam to the United States touched my heart and soul more than I can explain. I know that she wanted so much to tell her story, but in doing so, she had to relive most of it in her mind and heart. Most of us can't comprehend what it would be like to leave your country and the family and friends you love so much. The decision of her parents to let her escape a regime that, at best, was cruel and unyielding was the ultimate sacrifice for the love of their little girl. Being a Vietnam War vet myself, I remember the freedom boats that set sail with some of them making it to countries with refugee camps and others not making it at all. This little girl put so much faith in her parent's and other relatives wishes, still not knowing if she would ever see them again. She's the bravest person I've ever had the honor and good fortune to one and correspond with. I will always treasure her book of poems and refer to it when I think life is being unfair or hard on me. Crystal now has a beautiful daughter and son and has proven that being a mother is very difficult on your own, but not to this lovely lady. She has always placed them first in her life the way her mother did so many years ago. I've been forced to cut ties with her over the net due to my health, but she'll always remain a major love in my life. I pray that The Lord will continue to guide her life and that she will be happy. That's the most important thing to me. She's a lovely lady, but will always be that little girl to me.
